Vah Rudania dungeon is one of the four Divine Beasts scattered in Hyrule. This guide explains how to explore the Vah Rudiana Dungeon and five terminal locations in the Giant Mechanical Lizard.
How to start the Vah Rudania Dungeon?
When you go down the dungeon, it will be pitch black from three Calamity Eyes staring at you – two on the floor and one on the ceiling.
Attack with arrows to destroy their nearby Calamity gunk, revealing chests, one of which has a torch. Use the light, slide the blue flame torch near the entrance, and you are ready to continue the journey. Go to the far right corner and turn on the flashlight to open the door.
In this section three Calamity Eyes will be fired – two on the left side (one half, one in the far corner) and one on the right, which can be seen by standing on the far wall and looking back at the torch from the previous room.
When ready, relight your torch from the previous light, and turn on the flame next to the door on the far left, where you can reach the Guidance Stone and illuminate the dungeon.
By looking at your map screen, you can turn the Divine Beast 90 degrees, rotating inside the dungeon that allows you to access new areas on the wall.
The first terminal in the Vah Rudania Dungeon
Go to the previous room, and you will see the First Terminal on the wall. Stand near the door frame and turn the Beast by going to the map and selecting another purple notch then returning to the game.
The Beast will spin, and you will be on the wall. The problem is, the terminal is still out of reach. To get there, run down the room until you see the platform tilted to the ceiling. Remember this platform, because it’s the key to get out and be above the Beast and find more terminals.
Run until you are above the terminal and dropdown. You might lose two or three hearts, but you should easily land right where they are.
The second terminal in the Vah Rudania Dungeon
Head back to the platform tilted to the ceiling – if you want a Chest, carefully go down from the edge and stand on it, then turn the Beast 90 degrees to bow, then back again – and continue up to appear outside. Remove all equipment from the wood because it will burn in the hot air, and turn the Beast back 90 degrees and climb the wall in front of you.
Now on the Beast Bronze, run to the place of the torch and turn the Beast back 90 degrees, it will look like this:
Run across the spine to the Calamity Gunk and shoot the eye in the middle.
Climbing on the run, and you will see a chest in one of the thorns with Ancient Core in it.
Now turn over the Beast, and look behind the thorn where you came to see the Calamity Gunk and eyes above. Aim to reveal the Second Terminal, which you can run and activate.
The Third Terminal in the Vah Rudania Dungeon
Make sure the Beast lay flat, and go back down through the ceiling to the starting room, and head to the starting place with two blue torches.
If you are facing the place you entered, on the right, there is a door with a small gap and a torch that does not light on the other side. If you stand near one of the torches, you can pull your bow and hover near the torch to light the arrow with a blue flame.
Now strafe right into the door and shoot it through the hole in the door to light the torch and open the way.
In the next room with an orange firewall, once again light your arrow with a blue flame torch and walk, and look up to see a bunch of leaves. Shoot them to burn them, which drops metal boxes.
Use Magnesis to move the box in the path of the orange fire, then turn the Beast down, blocking the light so you can pass it. Flip Beast again so you can then access the terminal.
The Fourth Terminal at the Vah Rudania Dungeon
Go to the two blue torches where you first entered the dungeon room and make sure the beasts are level. Drag your bow above one of the blue flames to make the arrow light up, and look to the left, where you will see a set of giant metal doors with leaves at the top.
Shoot an arrow to burn it, then open the door using Magnesis.
Inside is a Terminal. Also, make sure to burn the leaves on the wall to drop the chest containing the Ancient Gear.
The Fifth Terminal in the Vah Rudania Dungeon
Go to the two blue torches where you first entered the dungeon room and make sure the beasts are level. Turn on your handheld torch, and stand by the wall so that when you turn the beast upside down, you will carry the torch safely 90 degrees.
You will now see an extended sloping platform that leads to the ceiling and outside. Bring the torch up, and when outside, Down to the back of the Beast, where it curves.
Turn Beast and slowly walk upwards when moving, so that you are on the torch that you can light.
Turning on the torch will release the ball in the channel below. Follow back to the inside of the Beast and turn the Beast so that the tilted platform can run down to the inside, and the ball will run along with it.
At the bottom, it will stop behind the gate.
Turn over the Beast and stand next to the gate, looking up. You have to move the entrance to the right with Magnesis (so when it’s reversed, the ball goes up so the ball can move), then hold it in place with Static.
Turn over the Beast as soon as possible so that when you turn around, gravity will see the ball fall. Place the ball in the lit nook on the floor to reach the terminal.
Now that you have completed all five terminals, it’s time to face the dungeon boss, Fireblight Ganon, where we will provide direction from where to start, how to prepare and strategies to defeat him. Good luck!
