Without saying a word, Microsoft has released an update that reduces Xbox Series X / S on time by five seconds. The initial animation with the Xbox logo now lasts four seconds instead of nine and reaches the dashboard in just eight seconds. Starting from scratch, i.e., with the console off in Energy Saving mode (the only compatible with this new function), it takes fifteen seconds to get to the home screen, including the time it takes to press the power button.
Microsoft is working tirelessly on the Energy Saving mode of both consoles, and this new update even makes power up faster. In recent months, Xbox engineers have introduced the ability to download all updates, both system automatically and video games, for both Xbox Series X and Series S, even in Energy Saving mode, a function so far only available with the full power setting, and have set this mode as the “default” for all new consoles.
Microsoft’s commitment is linked to the program illustrated a few months ago to make the Xbox and all its accessories increasingly eco-sustainable and reduce the negative environmental impact. By 2030, the company wants to reduce waste, use only recyclable materials and increase the use of renewable sources. Since the Energy Saving mode consumes less electricity and saves twenty times more, the Redmond giant is trying to create additional incentives to convince players to use it.
