Microsoft and Bang & Olufsen have announced the Beoplay Portal Wireless Headphones for Xbox. With a price tag of $ 499, which will likely be $ 499 in Europe, they are just as expensive as the Xbox Series X.
The new high-end headphones are part of the Designed for Xbox Limited Series program, which Microsoft says “communicates with partners about each product to test quality, performance, safety, and security across all Xbox hardware experiences.”

Bang & Olufsen’s headphones come in Black Anthracite, Gray Mist, and Navy Brass and are available for pre-order starting today. In the US and Canada, the black headset is available from today. The Gray Mist and Navy Brass will be released in May. Worldwide, the headphones should be released on April 29, 2021.
The headphones offer an “advanced aesthetic and can be used in any situation,” they also have easy access to gaming features such as game/chat balance, mute, and volume on the headset itself or via the Bang & Olufsen audio app.
Via lossless 2.4GHz, they would easily connect wirelessly to Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, but they can also be connected to gaming PCs and mobile devices with Bluetooth 5.1 aptX Adaptive.
Charging only takes three hours, and the Beoplay Portal has “twelve hours of battery when using Xbox Wireless, Bluetooth and active noise canceling, and 24 hours when using only Bluetooth and active noise canceling.”
The design of the Beoplay Portal “combines Scandinavian design values with the world of gaming.” The headphones are made of genuine leather on the headband and ear cups for the best isolation.
