Since the release of Windows 11, some users of the new system report problems with a slow Internet connection and reduced processor performance, Microsoft and AMD acknowledge the vulnerabilities and are working to resolve them.
Microsoft noted the issue of slower network connectivity in an official document containing known Windows 11 bugs. Problems may be related to the incompatibility of the “Killer” and “SmartByte” drivers used in some Intel and Realtek WiFi cards.
Microsoft explains that products using the drivers mentioned above may not read information packets correctly under certain conditions, resulting in longer loading websites and videos, e.g., on YouTube.
However, when it comes to the bug with lower processor performance, the problem discovered by one of the Reddit users concerns AMD processors and has been confirmed by the manufacturer.
According to AMD, the vulnerability could be caused by unintentional cache lags and inadequate allocation of too many tasks to a single CPU core.
Currently, both Microsoft and AMD are working on patches that will be introduced in the coming updates.
