Activision assures that it will present “groundbreaking innovations” this year and that it is preparing for the new edition of Call of Duty Warzone.
Some reservations are already raised because the publisher describes the project not as a sequel but as an “experience,” which may suggest an upgrade to an existing game.
On the other hand, the product is created “from scratch” and in parallel with the next installment of the “standard” Call of Duty – it is a continuation of Modern Warfare from 2019.
Apart from that, we do not know any specific details about the new Warzone. So we don’t know if the show this year also means a premiere. It is also unclear whether we will transfer progress and purchases from an existing battle royale.
Activision confirmed that 2022 was a weaker year for Call of Duty. The reasons were that Vanguard sold less than Black Ops Cold War. There was also a “lower involvement” of players in Warzone.
