The first game in the saga was released in 1993 in the arcades and used Lockheed Martin’s aerospace simulation technology. It offered a cast of eight characters, to which was added the boss, Dural, making his debut a year later on consoles, in this case, the extinct SEGA Saturn. It was the most desired game on the SEGA console at the time of launch, and a Virtua Fighter accompanied almost all machines sold at the time. According to legend, it even inspired Sony’s managers to create the first PlayStation.
A few decades later, and developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku studio in collaboration with SEGA AM2, Ultimate Showdown was released in early June (2021) exclusively for PlayStation 4, uses updated visuals in Dragon Engine, and brings a series of new features to the table, such as a new interface, cinematics and, of course, online features, which are what most distinguishes it and what makes it work perfectly as part of the Plus offers.
