Electronic Arts have recently published a new update for UFC 4, the latest chapter of the famous video game series dedicated to the world of mixed martial arts, surprisingly inserting real commercials that occur during the matches. Fans accused the developers of having spent almost a month before making the update to ensure that the choice did not affect the public’s reviews and the specialized press.
According to users, the main problem is that the title is already being sold at full price, and consequently, it should not force players to watch so many advertisements during a match. As you can see below, the spots do not appear only during replays and in the appropriate spaces placed inside the octagon and in the match graphics.
Speaking on Reddit, an EA employee promptly communicated that the developer has understood the error and that the ads will soon be removed. Of course, the partnership with The Boys will be part of an essential agreement between the two parties, and as a result, it could be days, or even weeks, before the developers return the game to its original state.
UFC 4 is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and probably won’t upgrade next-gen. The game has been received in a generally positive way, but this slip could cost a lot to the image of the title. We look forward to new developments.
