TSMC Will Start Production of 5nm Processors for Apple in Q4 2020

After announcing Intel’s transition to Apple Silicon, Apple is now preparing to ask TSMC to produce the latest Apple Silicon processors made with 5nm fabrication. Yes, TSMC itself is now a manufacturer of chipsets and processors trusted by Apple.

The Taiwan-based company is now preparing to produce this 5nm processor, where the process will begin in the 4th quarter of 2020.

It was also stated that later, TSMC would produce around 5,000 to 6,000 processors within one month. However, TSMC can increase the figure as well. Apple does need more Apple Silicon processors.

It is hoped that the Apple Silicon processor’s production process can run well so that Apple will not need to delay the launch of its new laptop, unlike the iPhone 12, which is rumored to be postponed until October 2020.

As information, later Apple’s first laptops that will use the 5nm Apple Silicon processor are the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro and the 13.3-inch MacBook Air. Both laptops are currently also preparing to be produced by Apple.

After the two laptops, Apple will only release other laptops, such as the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is predicted to be released in 2021.
