Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company or TSMC is currently known as a very well-known chipset manufacturer. This Taiwanese company has also been trusted by many technology companies to produce chipsets on their devices.
Recently TSMC has reportedly succeeded in developing a 2nm-sized mobile chipset using the GAA-FET process. This chipset also managed to become the smallest size mobile chipset available to date.
Reportedly, the chipset will begin mass production in 2023 and will be used in flagship smartphones.
As information, GAA-FET itself is one of the chipset manufacturing processes where GAA stands for Gate-all-around. FET is a designation for chip design that resembles Fin-FET.
With its smaller size, of course, this chipset will have a very economical power consumption so that later battery usage can be reduced and make the device last longer than chipsets with larger sizes.
But now TSMC is arguably more focused on developing its new 5nm chipset, which will be used on the Snapdragon 875 chipset.
