Nintendo and Square Enix are back to show Triangle Strategy, a new tactical JRPG in the wake of Octopath Traveler, emphasizing the relationship between characters, innovative gameplay, and a variable story depending on the player’s choices. The new trailer shows the game’s main features and reveals the release date, March 4, 2022, only on Switch.
In Triangle Strategy, the player will take control of Serenoa, heir to the Wolfhort lineage, and lead a group of warriors on an adventure where every choice can make a difference. The game’s official website reveals that the most important decisions will strengthen one of the protagonist’s three beliefs, pragmatism, morality, and freedom, which determine Serenoa’s worldview and influence the story’s unfolding. Square Enix has confirmed that the game will have a longevity of no less than 50 hours and that there will be multiple endings.
The turn-based combat system is reminiscent of that of the Divinity: Original Sin series, emphasizing character positioning and the map to be used to your advantage to get the better of the toughest encounters. Below you can check out the latest trailer.
Triangle Strategy is available for preorder on Nintendo eShop for € 59.99, and at the moment, the release is scheduled exclusively on Switch.
