SEGA today announced Total War: Rome Remastered, scheduled for April 29 and being made in partnership with Feral Interactive. The game comes with visual and gameplay improvements.
The game was announced via a press release, and a live-action trailer for Total War: Rome Remastered was immediately released.
The game delivers a modern gaming experience but keeps the original Total War formula of paramount importance. There are new and improved features such as completely redesigned visuals, UHD resolution support (native 4K), an expanded faction roster, and improved accessibility.
The original came with 22 factions, to which 16 are now being added. According to David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive, remaking the game was an exciting task: “Working on a remaster of a classic like Rome was a nerve-wracking challenge: it’s like re-trimming the crown jewels.”
Also striking is that for the first time, it is possible to play the game cross-platform. This way, you can compete in multiplayer against players on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Total War: Rome Remastered is available on PC from April 29. By the way, players who already own the original receive a significant discount. Until June 1, 2021, you can purchase the Remastered version with a 50% discount.
