11-bit studios announced that three Frostpunk expansion packs – Last Fall, On the Edge, and Rifts – will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 21. Until now, they were only available on PC.
Add-ons introduce new gameplay mechanics, buildings, stories, and storylines. The most important information can be found in the material from the creators below.
Last Fall is a prequel, so the action occurs before the onset of eternal winter, which covers the world with snow and ice. The player oversees the construction of a Generator that will allow humanity to survive in the future.
On the edge, in turn, is a continuation of the basic adventure, and in addition, we are dealing with the expansion of the settlement located far from the city. This time we have to cope without a Generator, which means having to find other heat sources. It is also necessary to forge alliances with other human clusters scattered around the map.
Rifts introduce an endless mode to the fun, dividing the map into smaller parts, between which we travel using bridges.
Frostpunk combines the city builder genre with survival developed by the Polish team. The player tries to overcome the cold by expanding the city and caring for its inhabitants.
Add-ons can be purchased individually or obtained as part of the Season Pass. Frostpunk will also debut on consoles in the complete edition, including expansions.
