The PS5 and Xbox Series X version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not be developed by the guys at CD Projekt Red, as revealed earlier by President Adam Kiciński. The Polish developers, busy with the production of Cyberpunk 2077 and a new and mysterious ‘Triple-A’ video game, have decided to pass the baton to Saber Interactive Games, the studio responsible for the porting to Nintendo Switch.
Saber Interactive currently has six official offices and a total of approximately 600 employees. THQ Nordic bought the company last February for half a billion dollars and considered the project’s importance. It will undoubtedly have decided to entrust the development of the port to a capable division.
According to VGC, Adam Kiciński said: “The new version is developed externally. We chose the same team that worked on the Nintendo Switch port and the 4K version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They know our technology very well. , and we agreed for a high-level port, with next-gen mechanics and graphics.”
The port for Nintendo Switch released in 2019 was generally welcomed by the specialized press, despite some problems related to the excessive use of motion blur and the presence of different low-resolution textures. However, the new consoles should not have many limitations, and consequently, developers will be free to push the accelerator and be a little more daring. We remind you that at the moment, a release date has not yet been announced.
