Publisher Raw Fury and developer Playmestudio have announced The Signifier: Director’s Cut, an extended version of The Signifier available on PC (via free update) and consoles (not to mention which ones, but probably PS4 and Xbox One).
The Signifier: Director’s Cut will feature enhanced graphics, new endings, and new memories and dialogues. The game was released for PC via Steam in October 2020.
The Signifier is a first-person tech-noir mystery adventure that blends investigation, experimental psychology, and artificial intelligence.
Explore the real and surreal worlds, become immersed in fringe psychology, solve puzzles, and find the truth as Frederick Russell, an AI and psychology expert. The main researcher behind an experimental deep brain scanner called the Dreamwalker. Its controversial technology allows the exploration of the recorded senses and unconscious realms of the mind. He finds himself thrust into a spiral of intrigue when asked to use his creation after the world’s biggest tech company’s vice president turns up dead in her apartment.
“What goes on in the mind of a killer?” Modern crime dramas often build on this question of cognitive theory criminal psychology. What if, instead of entering the killer’s mind, an investigator could explore the victim’s unconsciousness?
Seek the answer in The Signifier: Director’s Cut, a psychological thriller that blends experimental parapsychology, artificial intelligence, and technology on a journey into the realms of the unconscious mind.
As so often is the case, the outcome may reveal the truth behind the saying, “be careful what you look for.”
