Rockstar Games has released an update with GTA Online fan-developed solutions to speed up loading on PC. Gamers report that changes are visible, and in some cases, the difference is huge. At the same time, the patch introduced problems in the Xbox One version.
“[Loading time – ed.] Lowered from 7 minutes to 1:57,” writes Ontyyy on Reddit, which is equipped with Intel i7-2600k, GeForce 1070, and 16 GB of RAM. User Xim gives an even more impressive result, from 5-8 minutes to just 35 seconds. Other examples of results from internet users, mentioned in the thread on the forum:
- from 4-5 minutes to 1 minute and 22 seconds
- from 8-10 minutes to 2 minutes and 20 seconds
- from 7 minutes to 2 minutes and 30 seconds
As you can see, the results vary for each player, which is further confirmed by the PC Gamer editorial tests. The journalist measured the time and obtained a slightly less amazing result: from 3 minutes and 15 seconds to 2 minutes.
Numerous player reports also show that the update causes problems for Xbox One users. GTA Online does not allow you to connect to the story mode or multiplayer, displaying an error. Rockstar is probably already working on a fix for the bug.
In the official description of the update, Rockstar thanked the user t0st, who developed the solutions implemented by the company. The clever fan of GTA Online has already received 10,000 from the publisher.
