ArtPlay has revealed that it will deviate “from the previously released roadmap” for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to add a new character that is “NOT from the world of Bloodstained.
Acknowledging that “some technical issues have slowed down its production schedule,” Artplay has apologized for “the long delay between updates” and detailed upcoming news for Castlevania’s spiritual successor, designed by Koji Igarashi and released in 2019.
“Our next update will introduce a new playable character to the game,” it is explained on the official blog. “This is a change from the previously released roadmap. We can confirm that this new character is NOT from the world of Bloodstained. We have been working closely with a well-known partner to bring his character (and friend) into the game.”
“As with the previous characters, you can explore the entire map, although you will have to acquire certain skills before you can access some areas and bosses. Along the way you can increase the rank and class of the character’s special ability, to grow your power. “
Due to these delays, the update still “does not have a release window,” but they have specified that “we hope that the next update will also include the Chaos Mode with cooperative, versus and multiplayer.”
Although content is still being published for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, publisher 505 Games already confirmed last June that a sequel is in the works.
