According to a trusted insider, a certain Tom Henderson, he reported according to his sources that the next Call of Duty expected in 2022 could be a sequel to Modern Warfare of 2019. The title at the moment would have the code name of Project Cortez.
“It looks like Call of Duty: 2022 is codenamed Project Cortez,” Henderson tweeted. “It’s expected to be a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019.”
According to sources close to Activision, the next will focus on Colombian drug cartels with players involved in a secret war as US special forces.
The new Modern Warfare is expected to be in development by Infinity Ward for at least three years. We hope to have more details soon. In the meantime, take what is reported with the usual pliers.
