The Matrix Awakens officially announced: presentation to TGA 2021, will be free on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S

Last December 3, we told you for the first time about The Matrix Awakens, a new application inserted on the PS Store and presumably linked to the new film of the series due out in 2022. Today, Warner Bros and Epic Games officially unveiled the project, a free tech demo available on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S that will guarantee players “a taste of the future of gaming storytelling and entertainment in Unreal Engine 5”. The official presentation will take place at TGA 2021.

The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is described as “a free demo with real-time technology and a cinematic component that pushes all bounds, made by members of the original film’s crew, including Lana Wachowski, along with Epic Games and associates with the participation of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. “

The preload of the demo is available right now on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. Considering that the weight of the file is about 25 GB, we can assume that this is a decidedly substantial experience and not a demo of a few minutes. Once you have preloaded, you will not be able to log in until the game is released, which has not been announced at the moment.

The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience will be officially unveiled at The Game Awards 2021, and there is a perfect chance it will launch sometime this month. From the first information, it seems that the game takes full advantage of the power of Unreal Engine 5 and next-gen consoles, so technically, we could be facing the top of the range.
