Announced during the Xbox Game Showcase last July, the sci-fi action-adventure The Gunk was postponed by the developers of Image & Form the following month, in August, with a delayed-release from September to the end of 2021. Today, the Thunderful Publishing studio has finally confirmed that the game will be released soon, and more precisely on December 16, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC, and that it will be available on day one Game Pass.
The Gunk is a sci-fi adventure video game in which the player controls Rani, an explorer who lands on an alien planet with her partner Beck. The girl will have to free the planet from a strange corrupting ooze, sucking it thanks to her mechanical arm and fighting the evil creatures scattered around the world. Once the slime is sucked up, Rani will restore native fauna and flora and discover more details about the setting.
The Gunk was supposed to be available on PC and Xbox starting in September. Still, the studio was forced to postpone the release to complete the polishing operations during the summer. From December 16, all Microsoft players will experience the new adventure created by Image & Form at no additional cost thanks to Game Pass or purchase the product at a budget price of € 29.99.
