The Callisto Protocol isn’t out yet, but the gameplay trailer shown at Summer Game Fest 2022 made a great impression on fans, and author Glen Schofield and Striking Distance Studio are enjoying the praise as they complete work on this ambitious sci-fi horror. During an interview, the author spoke about the game, revealing his high expectations. He stated that if fans appreciate the project, he would not mind turning it into a series, a thought shared by his studio and the publisher Krafton.

First of all, Schofield talked about the similarities with Dead Space, his latest work, stating the following: “I think you will enter the game and play it thinking about Dead Space, but once you finish it, you will realize how much the story, the characters, and the universe are different, as is the way we try to tell and deepen the story. The combat system is different, as are the enemies. I don’t think people can play it and think, ‘Oh, this is Dead Space 4 ‘, I don’t think so “.

However, there is an undeniable point in common with Dead Space. It is the desire to make a series: “Krafton (Editor’s note. The publisher) wants to have a bigger space in the industry, and if we talk about franchises, I think they are a lot motivated and have the right attitude to do it. I hope that this game can become one of those able to expand more. In all cases, now we have to think about publishing the first one, see how it goes, and then the rest will come as a consequence. “.

The Callisto Protocol will be available from December 2nd on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
