The Best War Game of 2020

Hell Let Loose

War games are a niche that is only liked by certain gamers. Generally, the theme is dominated by crossfire games. Still, it’s not uncommon for developers and publishers to create a genre of strategy where you don’t have to go directly into it. Some wars are also present without firearms and only rely on traditional weapons such as arrows or swords. Make a unique variant that can not be separated from the theme.

Unfortunately, in 2020 some war games released can only be counted fingers. At least to enter the best ranks, especially after COVID-19 struck, which resulted in delayed development.

Even so, some developers and publishers have finished working on it this year. Give war game fans to feel something new in the titles they have released. Then, what are the best 2020 war games? Here’s a list of the best war games in 2020.

1. Titanfall 2

We are back again with Respawn Entertainment with the main series, Titanfall 2. Present as the second iteration, Titanfall 2 successfully presents a single-player mission previously absent from the game. As a pilot with an attractive, unique, and creative platforming world design for the game, Parkour game is flooded with praise from the media and fans.

If you play the Titanfall series, you won’t be surprised if the weapons you have been transferred very well in Apex Legends. But unlike Apex, Titanfall 2’s multiplayer game is more inclined to speed and riots. All none other than the presence of the titan that enliven every match.

The alloy is timeless since EA decided to bring Titanfall 2 back to Steam this year. Allow more new players who haven’t had the chance to experience one of these Respawn masterpieces.

2. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The second iteration of Mount & Blade follows one of the next war games currently in early access. Its complex development has made the game not finished since it was announced in 2012. Not until finally, they released the early access version this year.

You who have played the game in the past will understand the RPG action strategy game presents very well. Where you will create a group of soldiers and do quests that appear on the map. The battle itself will occur on a large battlefield, where you will immediately take part in it.

3. Hyper Scape

Battle Royale is a genre that is already too exhausted to be exploited, but it seems that fact does not make Ubisoft discourage it from making similar games. Although relatively late, Hyper Scape tries to present a faster game than Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. With this type of vertical play, Hyper Scape works to get fans to explore Neo Arcadia’s arena with a variety of weapons and abilities called Hacks.

At first glance, the game does look like Apex Legends because it has individual abilities or skills. But in reality, this ability is part of the loot that is randomly distributed along with the map. With games that are more concerned with high jumps, slides, and other unique abilities, Hyper Scape can be an option for those of you who are tired of playing battle royale that’s all. Oh yes, this game is free and is still available on PC in open beta for now. Ubisoft will release it this summer on all platforms.

4. Hell Let Loose

Realistic and hardcore are two keywords that can not be separated from Hell Let Loose. That you will not be confronted with a generic fps war game with various HUDs that show how bullet you are right now, or just where your enemy is. Yes, this one war game will stretch out realism in every game. Give you an idea of how all the soldiers will die in one shot.

Carry out the theme of world war; Hell Let Loose simplify the hardcore version of Battlefield without any HUD. You have to be careful every time you play the game because even one bullet can kill you. You can summon artillery to help you storm some of the points that are being controlled by the enemy.

5. Days of War: Definitive Edition

Days of War: Definitive Edition is a fast-paced first-person shooter war game with the theme of the second world war. If you have played Call of Duty, this is the “lite” version of the game. But what makes it different is the number of players that can accommodate up to 32 players in one match.

The game has 12 maps, classes, 60 weapons, and competitive mode. Days of War: Definitive Edition also presents gore elements that are quite clear, ranging from splashes of blood to some parts of the body that are separated. Including the head that exploded due to gunfire.

6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Coming up with a series of reboots, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tries to remake the story of Captain Price and his partners through a new game engine they created. Assisted by several other Activision internal developers such as Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, Infinity Ward has created a new standard for the Call of Duty series through Modern Warfare.

Animation, weapon handling, until the pace of the game are arranged in such a way as to make it more realistic to make the game their concoction successfully loved again by the fans after repeatedly presenting futuristic themes, which are quite okay of course.

7. Battlefield V

In contrast to Battlefield 4, the next iteration is Battlefield V, fostering war during the second world war. Especially after Battlefield 1 also adopted a similar theme. You will enjoy several weapons of the past, including tanks and planes used to storm enemy during wartime.

This time, you can build a barricade and enjoy a battle royale mode called Firestorm that has never existed in a series before. Interestingly, DICE and EA present a hero that you can use in multiplayer mode. This hero will have his unique animation and sound without messing up the game at all.

8. Apex Legends

Although released in 2019, it is undeniable that Apex Legends gives freshness to the battle royale genre. With the concept of a hero shooter, Respawn Entertainment’s war game will invite you to explore the settings taken from the Titanfall universe with some of the heroes they call legend to fight in an arena containing about 60 a squad with three players.

Entering the season 5 update, which added Loba Andrade, Respawn Entertainment tried to give Apex Legends a new color for the next few years. You can read our review when the game is released if you are still curious about the game. Oh, this game will be released on Steam near the end of 2020 with crossplay support between PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

9. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

Ace Combat 7’s focus: Unknown Skies in air warfare with science fiction settings make the series one of the most loved war games. You will control an original and fictional jet fighter that was never made in the real world but in a real-world setting. In this game, you will play a fighter pilot with callsign Trigger to crush your enemies from the conflict of the two sovereignty battles of USEA and ERUSEA.

Bandai Namco and Project Aces worked very well with Ace Combat 7: Unknown Skies. An air drama with intriguing intrigues between military politicians and how the escape of a princess from one of her countries sparked several minor conflicts, making it one of the best new war games to enjoy in 2020.

That’s the best war game 2020 you can play this year. At least after mid-2020. Unfortunately, only a few of the best war games have emerged this year due to COVID-19. Making development hampered because they have to do it from home.
