Tencent, the Chinese billionaire giant that has managed to carve out an important space in the videogame market for some years, has surprisingly announced a collaboration with the well-known Swiss company Logitech to create a new portable console entirely based on Cloud Gaming. The device has not yet been shown to the public, but the two companies have confirmed that it will be released in late 2022 and that at launch, it will support Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
Being an entirely cloud-based console, downloading or installing video games will not be necessary, but simply playing them on your device using your subscription services. If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, click on the Forza Horizon 5 icon to stream the game on your device, even when you are away from your console or PC. Of course, an internet connection will be required for the console to work.
“Logitech Gaming is a leading company in the field of gaming devices for consoles and PCs, and we quickly understood that they would be the ideal partners to allow us to create a device that can improve gamers’ experience around the world,” said Daniel Wu, GM of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab. “This day marks the beginning of a journey full of opportunities for both companies to broaden the horizons of portable gaming devices.”

G. “I grew up playing video games, and the idea of being able to stream and play Triple-A video games at any time is very exciting. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’re working on.” The console will be presented in the coming months and made available this fall, subject to postponements.
