A new Ninja Turtles game has just been announced like a bolt from the blue. It’s called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and is developed by Dotemu ( Streets of Rage 4 ) and Tribute Games. The game takes the classic design of the famous turtles of 1987 and is a scrolling fighting game inspired by the much-loved titles, Turtles In Time.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will arrive on PC and consoles at a date not yet announced. The game is developed by Tribute Games (part of the studio that worked on Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game and TMNT for Game Boy Advance) and published by Dotemu, who recently starred with Streets of Rage 4. This is a scrolling fighting game that looks really good, but judges for yourself, with the announcement trailer:
The game will draw heavily from the classic design of the 1987 Turtles, re-proposing the atmosphere with splendid pixel art graphics. The gameplay will be old-fashioned but with modern mechanics, a bit like Streets of Rage 4, which has effectively reproduced classic gameplay.
Up to four players will be possible simultaneously, who will impersonate Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raffaello, in a totally new story mode designed specifically for the game. The developers promise more surprises, which we can’t wait to discover.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be released on PC and consoles. You can already add it to your wishlist on Steam.
