Following the success of Dying Light and the great initial sales success of Dying Light 2, Techland is gathering new strength to empower all of the company’s teams. Among these, we also find the one working on the studio’s new Triple-A open-world RPG, unofficially announced a few days ago and now revealed to the general public with the first concept art, which shows some glimpses of the original fantasy setting.
“We are very happy with what we have achieved so far with the Dying Light franchise,” said Paweł Marchewka, CEO of Techland, “our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Humanamong other things is only at the beginning since we intend to support this game for at least five years by providing support of a similar, if not greater, scope to that given to the community after the launch of the previous game. At the same time, our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP, which is very different from what we have done in recent years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a vast open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have acquired as a team over the years and full of new ideas, passion, and creativity. We can’t reveal more details at the moment, but we can’t wait to show the project to the players when the right time comes. “
Techland’s new video game does not yet have a name, but today it has finally been announced to the media, and it will be much more ambitious than Dying Light 2. The Polish studio team recently expanded with Karolina Stachyra and Arkadiusz Borowik, Narrative Director and Narrative Lead of The Witcher 2 and 3, respectively, plus other developers formerly CD Projekt Red, Ubisoft, and Arkane Studios. Furthermore, the direction of this new open world is entrusted to Bartosz Ochman, Open World Director of Cyberpunk 2077, so there is no shortage of talents.
What do you think of it? Curious to see this new IP? Or would you have preferred Dying Light 3 ? Let us know in the comments.
