During the last Direct of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, director Masahiro Sakurai listed the main characteristics of Pyra and Mythra, the two fighters from the Xenoblade universe. Unfortunately, the director did not reserve any other surprises for future fighters, but the Miis will enjoy new costumes thanks to a collaboration between Nintendo and Capcom.
The Direct dedication to Pyra and Mythra has just ended, the two heroines of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 ready to join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, and as usual, Masahiro Sakurai himself has listed all the characteristics of the two wrestlers.
Before going into details, however, the new Alrest Sea of Cloud scenario and the date the two fighters will be available, March 5th, were announced.
Returning to the gameplay, Mythra is more agile and with more elevation than Pyra, which benefits from a boost to the damage inflicted. In Nintendo’s plans, the alternation between the two heroines allows them to take advantage of their distinctive characteristics, given that the basic moves are almost identical. The most marked differences are related to the special attacks, based on the fire element for Pyra and the light for Mythra.
Moving on to the Mii warriors, the latter will enjoy new Monster Hunter- themed costumes (given the imminent release of Rise ) and Ghost ‘n Goblins, available for purchase on Nintendo eShop. Unfortunately, there was no final surprise related to the next warriors coming to the Nintendo game.
