Super Bomberman R Online – a kind of battle royale twist on the classic saga – will no longer be exclusive to Stadia and will be released on PC and consoles as a free-to-play title.
In Super Bomberman R Online, we put aside the campaign and single-player features of Super Bomberman R (2017) to immerse ourselves in a battle mode between 64 players.
Each battle begins with players being thrown into one of up to 16 combat arenas.
As the players are being eliminated – through the traditional way in the saga: placing bombs – the arenas are closing one by one, and they will force us to run to the closest area if we do not want to die. The game continues until only one player remains alive.
Super Bomberman R Online will be free to play on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, cross-play, and include eight playable characters and a selection of costumes, accessories, and bomb effects. The release date is still unknown.
Also, Konami will launch a Premium Pack for € 9.99 that will add 14 more characters, with references to sagas such as Gradius, Silent Hill, and Castlevania. The DLC adds multiplayer options, such as the creation of private rooms.
