Valve has released a robust new update for the Steam Deck, which adds new features, namely screen lock and window switching.
The changes were revealed in the latest patch notes, but those interested will also be able to learn more about each update.
They start by detailing the new screen lock feature, which allows users to set a PIN code, which will have to be entered when the Steam Deck is unlocked or turned on.
In addition to this functionality, another one was added to improve navigation in the console: switching windows. This functionality can be used from any software that is compatible with it. It introduces a quick menu that allows users to easily and quickly navigate between games and applications.
Valve has also updated the achievements page to load faster and easier, adding the possibility for the player to compare their achievements with those of another user.
The news does not stop here, and Valve made a point of underlining one more: the addition of localized keyboards. As of now, 21 more keyboards with different languages and layouts are available.
Keyboards in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean are currently not available, but Valve has already assured us that they are working on them and will be introduced in the future.
This is the first major update in a while, but there have been other major updates, such as introducing Windows and Xbox Game Pass compatibility.
