The adventure of Ratchet and Clank to become a superhero was told in the past by Insomniac Games. However, that was long before its appearance on the PlayStation 4, where the latest version is a remake of the entire series.
As if following the game’s cross-dimensional theme, Insomniac then continued their adventure on the PlayStation 5 in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is scheduled to be released this year. However, the news when the continuation of the series will be released has not come to light. No, until finally, Sony announced it today.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games announced that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch on PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2021.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will tell the story of the sequel to the prequel that separates Ratchet and Clank during their chase mission against Dr. Nefarious who uses a tool to split dimensions. On their way to reunite, the two meet a new Lombax female character and several familiar faces.
Sony explains that players who have not played or haven’t played the previous iteration on the PlayStation 4 will still be able to follow the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart story. While those of you who have followed it will find a close relationship between the two.
Currently, game pre-orders are open for the standard and deluxe editions. Players who pre-order the standard edition will be able to unlock Carbonox Armor and Pixelizer Weapons faster. While the Deluxe version will provide additional bonuses such as five armor sets, a sticker pack for photo mode, 20 raritaniums, digital soundtrack, and digital artbook.
Unfortunately, Insomniac Games and Sony are still reluctant to announce the name Lombax, the woman Ratchet and Clank will meet in the middle of their adventures. But they promised to announce it soon.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released on June 11, 2021, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
