The rumors of the last few hours have proved correct. A few moments ago, Sony officially presented the new PlayStation Plus, available in June, with several changes and three new price ranges. The service, known as “Spartacus,” incorporates PS Plus and PS Now into a single offer, with the latter ceasing to exist independently.
The new PlayStation Plus will be available starting in June with three price ranges, the same revealed in advance a few months ago by Jeff Grubb. Below you can read the details and contents.
PlayStation Plus Essential (€ 8.99 per month / € 24.99 every three months / € 59.99 per year)
It offers the same benefits currently available to PlayStation Plus subscribers, such as:
- Two downloadable games per month
- Exclusive discounts
- Cloud storage for saved games
- Access to online multiplayer
This tier does not involve any changes for current PlayStation Plus subscribers.
PlayStation Plus Extra (€ 13.99 per month / € 39.99 every three months / € 99.99 per year)
- It offers all the benefits of the Essential level.
- In addition, it offers a catalog that includes up to 400 of the most fun PS4 and PS5 games, including blockbuster titles from the PlayStation Studios catalog and third-party partners. Extra-level games can be downloaded to play.
PlayStation Plus Premium (€ 16.99 per month / € 49.99 every three months / € 119.99 per year)
- It offers all the benefits of the Essential and Extra levels
- Includes up to 340 additional games (in addition to the 400 of the Extra subscription), including PS3 titles available via cloud streaming and a catalog of great classics from the original generations of PlayStation, PS2, and PSP, available in both streaming and download
- Plus, it offers cloud streaming access to original PlayStation, PS2, PSP, and PS4 games available in Extra and Premium tiers in markets where PlayStation Now is currently available. The streaming will be available using the PS4 and PS5 consoles or the PC.
- Trial versions of limited-time games will also be available in this tier to allow customers to try out some games before purchasing them.
The Extra and Premium price ranges will include Triple-A at launch, including Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal. Upon launch of the new PlayStation Plus service, PlayStation Now will be incorporated into the new PlayStation Plus offering and will no longer be available as a standalone service.
Sony also confirms that PlayStation Now customers will be transferred to PlayStation Plus Premium without any increase in the subscription fee in force at launch.
