Sony will remove the ‘Accolades’ feature from the PlayStation 5 later this year as players have not shown enough interest in this rewards system.
As advanced by the publication TheSixthAxis, Sony announced in a statement the end of support for Accolades soon because gamers have not used it.
“In Autumn 2022, the Accolades feature on PlayStation 5 will no longer be supported,” the statement reads. “The feature has not seen the level of usage we had anticipated, so we are refocusing our efforts. We encourage the community to continue to send each other positive messages.”
Accolades were initially introduced to help create a more positive multiplayer experience and are a system where players can reward their teammates with medals after matches. These medals can then be viewed on PlayStation Network profiles. However, it seems that the feature has not aroused enough interest in the community.
Sony recently announced PlayStation Stars, a new loyalty program that wants to reward the console’s most loyal players. This program is just one of the new features in the field of services from Sony, which also introduced changes to PS Plus a few months ago.
