Sonic Frontiers

During our latest interview, Sonic Frontiers Game Director Morio Kishimoto talked about Open Zone structure, gameplay mechanics, and experience longevity, confirming that this new blue hedgehog adventure will also be the longest-running one ever. With the main story going on, it will take 20 to 30 hours to complete for the average player. For fans, of course, the situation changes, given that it will take more than double the time to unlock every skill and discover every nook and cranny of the game world.

During the interview, Kishimoto stated that the average player, i.e., the one with a little less experience or not too passionate about Sonic, should take between 20 and 30 hours to complete the story. In contrast, completists can easily take twice as much time to complete everything the game offers. To constantly motivate players during their journey, Kishimoto and his team have decided to implement a progression system for the protagonist to make sense of a likely more extensive gaming experience.

In Sonic Frontiers, therefore, there will be the classic skill tree with new techniques to unlock, and it will even be possible to increase the speed of the blue hedgehog by unlocking certain upgrades. This will make the game more fun for average players and extremely good for speed runs, like any self-respecting Sonic game. We remind you that Sonic Frontiers will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch, and PC during Christmas.
