Ransomware is currently one type of attack that is very dangerous because it can encrypt all the data on the victim’s device quickly and is difficult to overcome.
Well, recently one of the well-known automotive companies from Japan, Honda, reportedly had received a snake ransomware attack and made the operation of the company paralyzed.
As information, snake ransomware itself is one type of ransomware that can infect a victim’s device in one network. That is, if one device is infected, then other devices that are on the same system are also affected.
“Until now, no personal data has been leaked. We have been trying to restore the operational processes of the car factory and also our engine,” Honda said as quoted by The Verge.
Just like other ransomware, the perpetrators have asked Honda to give some money so they can decrypt the file, so it doesn’t just disappear.
“Our IT team continues to strive to resist this attack and restore business operations quickly. However, it seems that many business processes that depend on information systems are affected by this attack,” Honda.
