After years of waiting, postponements and numerous indiscretions, Skull & Bones is finally back to show itself in a new trailer, with a release date set for November 8, 2022. Ubisoft Singapore’s multiplayer pirate adventure will allow all players to become captains of their ship and start a career as a free bomber to become the most wanted pirate in the world. Quest Director Terry Han stated during the July 7 unveiling event that the team’s goal is to create “the best open-world pirate experience ever” and that to do so, he is preparing a support plan multi-year post-launch.
“Being a multiplayer live service game, our goal is to create the best open-world pirate experience possible,” explained Terry Han. “The team will continue to release new content not just in the coming months but for many years. After the launch, we will reveal the line-up of the content we are working on, and all of these will be completely free for players. These include events for the community, from the largest ones to be faced in co-op to the smallest ones, other themed events, new ships, weapons, furniture items and much more “. You can listen to the complete conversation from 36:10.
According to what was declared by the Quest Director, many Skull & Bones events will be variations of missions already present in the game, such as the boarding of merchant ships and the smuggling of goods. In contrast, the events for the community should be a little more ambitious. Considering that Ubisoft has talked about multi-year support, we can also hope that some mechanics not present at the moment will be added, such as the fighting with the white weapon and the free exploration of the islands. However, at the moment, the priority is probably to make the naval combat function perfectly.
