After a long wait and a development that certainly cannot be defined as linear, Ubisoft has announced that Skull & Bones will arrive on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia and PC (via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store) on November 8th.
The game was originally announced in 2017, and development had been underway for a few years. Based on the engine that governed the naval battles of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Skull & Bones ran into many obstacles and accumulated delays, missing the initial release date – 2018 – and all subsequent appointments. Till now.
In Skull & Bones, players will play the captain of their pirate ship. They can accept contracts, gather resources and sail the seas attacking merchant ships to recover the loot. Different choices will affect the player’s path, who will be able to climb the ranks of piracy and unlock new customization systems for his ship. And thanks to PvP, each player can create a team with two other users to engage in offshore combat.
Ubisoft promises robust multi-year post-launch support, with regular updates, new content, activities, stories, and challenges distributed for free.
In addition to the previously announced console versions, Skull & Bones will also be available on Ubisoft + on PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna.
