Akira Yamaoka, the composer of the Silent Hill series and several other titles, made a short teaser in a recently published interview with AI-Hub about his next project, saying that it would be “the one that the fans are waiting for” and that it will be announced, “next to summer.”
When asked when we can wait for his next project’s announcement, Yamaoka replied, “when, I imagine… I think I will be able to talk about it next summer or so… (summer this year?) That’s right… But I have almost sure it will be the ones you’re waiting for, Mutlaq [the interviewer]. ”
With the mention of the Japanese summer, Yamaoka may be talking about a possible announcement during an event around when E3 2021 will occur, a period in which companies usually reveal their main projects. With his involvement in the Konami series and the rumors around it, he may be talking about a new Silent Hill. Of course, consider this just speculation until an official announcement.
Yamaoka’s most recent project was The Medium, the psychological horror of the Bloober Team released for Xbox Series and PC on January 28.
