Yacht Club and Nitrome Games have announced the postponement of Shovel Knight Dig, the spin-off of Shovel Knight for release on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch. Announced in August 2019, Shovel Knight Dig was due to be released by the end of that year. But due to production delays, the development house was forced to postpone the release over and over again until it reached the autumn of the current year. Yacht Club Games recently announced a new postponement through an update on the official website, with a release date set for the generic 2022.
“With 2021 coming to a close, we wanted to provide an update regarding Shovel Knight Dig!” reads the official statement. “Development is going great, but we need a little more time than our initial projected release window.”
To apologize for the postponement, the development team previewed Scrap Knight, a new character that we will see in both Shovel Knight Dig and Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon, another spin-off for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC coming out this winter. Below you can take a look at the design.
