The official Japanese website for Shin Megami Tensei V was accidentally updated with release details for the upcoming game, including the Thursday, November 11, 2021 release date, PersonaCentral reported. This may only be for Japan, but the game was previously announced as a worldwide release. There is, therefore, a good chance that we can also get started on that day.
The website, which has since been updated, gives us an impression of the game’s story. The description is quite general and reads:
A high school student living an ordinary life wanders into another world called “Da’ath.” The hero emerges with a mysterious man, becomes a “Naobino,” a forbidden creature, and plunges into a battle between gods and demons.”
According to the website, “Da’ath” is “a mysterious world where desert is everywhere.” Here dwell “demons the size of mountains and giant birds flying in the sky.” In total, there are more than 200 of these demons. These will be familiar ones, but also Masayuki Doi drew new ones.
So it looks like a lot of the game will be set in this desert world. The protagonist makes his way through this world to “find out the truth.” According to the website, to fight the demons, you can “increase Naobino’s power” and even “handle the power of the demons themselves,.” Finally, the website hints at multiple endings with the phrase “What is the future you will choose?”
In addition to the new details, the website also revealed the Shin Megami Tensei V Limited Edition “Forbidden Naobino Box.” The description reads, “The first limited edition of Shin Megami Tensei V. This box condenses the charm of the game, full of many demons and music that embody Shin Megami Tensei V.” It also contains an item that resembles the hero Naobino, who is considered a “forbidden creature” in the game.
