Sega is a famous Japanese developer. Formerly they were known as a console manufacturer, but gradually they stopped and only focused on the field of game development. Some time ago also circulated rumours, if they are working with Microsoft.
Reporting from gamers, announced at the first stage of the ongoing IGN Summer of Gaming event, Sega worked with the publisher of Merge Games and Developer Jankenteam to bring back the classic mascot from the Sega Master System named Alex Kidd in the form of a remake with the title Alex Kidd in Miracle world dc.

This remake is based on the 1986 Sega Master System; the game is scheduled to be launched in “Q1 2021,”. This is one of the IPs (intellectual property) that was licensed to other developers following the success of Sonic Mania 2017, Kickstarter hits Shenmue 3 and Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove, along with newer hit games such as Streets of Rage 4. Licensing The IP has led to the return of many iconic Sega franchises that are unlikely to have a new series created by Sega.
Alex Kidd is a little-known IP from the old Sega catalogue, mainly because Sonic the Hedgehog is known as the first Sega mascot, with characters advertised together with the Master System in the late 1980s. This remake marks the first new series for more than 30 years. The last title itself, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, was launched in 1990 for the Sega Master System.
This visual remake feature is remade based on the art style of the original game promotion material, where the game provides an option to switch between retro and modern visual styles. Both visual styles display different animation styles and graphic details. This game also shows new levels and bosses that are not displayed in the original title.
Therefore, this proves that with the remake of one of the mascots, Sega is preparing something. Various Sega Games also get developers besides Sega, making it even more open with the possibility of cooperation in developing games. That might be a sign of Sega getting ready for the Next-gen console.
