Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War begins adding more content to Season One, preparing for the biggest year of Black Ops in history. Today, Black Ops Cold War and Warzone receive news that arrives little by little as armament and new Operators. Also, today, Black Ops Cold War players will be able to enjoy new multiplayer and Zombie modes, including Dropkick and No Max, as well as a giant 40-player arena map and more Multiplayer modes coming soon.
Starting on February 4, the next chapter in the Black Aether story arrives in Zombies mode and a competitive multiplayer map loved by Black Ops II fans, and more!
What’s new in Zombies mode
In early February, the Black Aether’s story continues with a completely new map of Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
However, before the map, players will be able to fight for their lives in the new No Max mode or survive the hordes in Slaughter (temporarily exclusive to PlayStation), as well as welcoming new undead exterminators during the Week Free Access to Zombies mode.
New mode: Maximum (Available now)
As of today, “Die Maschine” gets its newest limited-time mode – literally and figuratively speaking!
At the most, you will have to keep an eye on the clock, which will count down, and the other on killing zombies: go a long time without killing an undead, and you will explode! There is no time to lose in this mode in which you depend on the frenzy, many deaths based on fear, where the only pause is the Maximum Timer that guarantees a short breath before the carnage returns.
New Slaughter map (Exclusively for PlayStation * only): Raid (now available) and Express (as of February 4)
Requiem members playing on PlayStation will face a new challenge in the legendary multiplayer map Raid, now available. And from February 4, the Express map will also be available in Slaughter mode.
Go all out while dealing with the Black Aether Orb, which will move to different areas of the luxurious Los Angeles mansion in Raid, as the zombie hordes get more and more frightening. Kill enough of these Elites, and you will earn special Bronze, Silver, or Gold rankings and exclusive Weapon Projects *. You may even discover new information about Black Aether along the way …
New Zombie Map: Firebase Z (February 4)
With the “Projekt Endstation” site destroyed after an investigation into Black Aether in Poland, the Requiem team, led by Grigori Weaver, focuses on the latest outbreak site, codenamed “ Firebase Z. “
The next chapter of Black Ops Cold War Zombies begins on February 4 with Season One’s continuation.
Free Access Week until January 21
For the first time in the history of Call of Duty, Zombies, Treyarch’s legendary mode will be available at no cost with Free Zombie Access Week. Starting from today until January 21.
This free, creepy access period will be available to all players through their respective platform stores:
In addition to the new Zombies mode, Black Ops Cold War will also receive two new explosive maps:
Sanatorium (Available Now)
Ten squadrons of four operators will go to the Ural plains to fight for objectives and vehicles on the ground, air, and sea.
In the Urals, there is an experimental medical treatment center for the Soviets, focusing on a clandestine investigation by NATO forces in September 84. The hills with few trees guarantee the squads’ hiding place to recognize the “hotel”: a giant brute architectural design flanked by lakeside structures and a large wooden pier.
With connections to secret tests at the State Sanatorium U-23, notes found in this building indicate a conditioning test known as Project Golova.
Express (6v6) (February 4)
Direct from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Express map arrives on February 4 in Black Ops Cold War as a 6v6 multiplayer map, known to fans as the high-tech train station home to many unbelievable moments in the history of competitive Call of Duty.
Express is more or less U-shaped and features two train tracks going around the station’s main hall. Players can expect a lot of close combat in the hall, but beware as the glass roof leaves the environment susceptible to enemy Scorestreaks.
Long-distance combat can also occur on the train tracks, especially when looking at elevated passages on either side of the map. These locations are also great for watching one of the high-speed trains that pass through the station on one of the tracks, and that will not hesitate to eliminate any inattentive operator in its path.
Much more news
Also, players can expect a lot of news; see below for a list of the main featured content:
- New Armaments: Wakizashi (now available)
- New Operator: Zeyna (January 21)
- New Multiplayer Modes: Dropkick (now available), Snipers Only Moshpit, and Endurance Mode (during Season One). Also, the popular 3v3 Face-off continues.
More items in store
In addition to the introduction of Zeyna and a Zombie themed skin for Bulldozer, Black Ops Cold War and Warzone stores will receive new themed packages to celebrate February’s commemorative dates.
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Legendary Weapons Projects with tracer projectiles in the “Tracer Pack: Year of the Ox”; hit your opponents’ hearts with the “Secret Admirer” package; and bring the spirit of Mardi GRas into battle with the “Captain of Carnival” package, bringing an epic skin, “Breaker,” to the NATO Baker.
Double XP enabled
To celebrate Season One’s continuation, the Double XP weekend is coming in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, from January 15th through 19th. It is a great opportunity to earn accessories for Streetsweeper or camouflages for Wakizashi as soon as they are unlocked or keep trying to win the DM Ultra, and Black Aether pockets in Multiplayer Zombies.
