Sony announced today that the promising turn-based pixel-art RPG Sea of Stars will also be released on PS4 and PS5 in 2023, as well as on Nintendo Switch and PC. The Sabotage development studio describes the game as an old-school RPG inspired by great classics like Chrono Trigger, with a retro aesthetic to a more modern design. Initially, the game was supposed to be released in 2022, but the studio recently announced the postponement to 2023 due to production problems, so we will have to wait for a little before starting the adventure.
Sea of Stars will be an adventure “full of fun and heartwarming moments,” with six playable characters, turn-based combat, and a narrative component that is described as the production’s main selling point. Being an old-fashioned RPG, you can freely explore the world, fish, cook, stop in a tavern to listen to a song, have fun with minigames, talk to NPCs, and complete other secondary activities. The studio also promises dozens of characters with original narrative arcs and a well-kept world full of exploration possibilities.
Sea of Stars will debut in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Below you can take a look at the new trailer.
