Ebb Software’s first-person horror adventure game, Scorn, will be released this fall. The launch window of the title had already been announced in the game trailer shown last year, and the confirmation came during the Opening Night Live.
In fact, during the event that opened Gamescom 2021, a Scorn title card was shown during a video dedicated to Xbox Game Pass, which briefly showed the release period: autumn 2021.
Scorn was initially unveiled in 2014 as a Kickstarter project. In 2016, Ebb Software announced that the title would be released in 2017. That didn’t happen, and a second Kickstarter was launched. Last year, Ebb Software announced that the game would be released on PC and Xbox Series.
Scorn will transport players to a claustrophobic underworld populated by deformed organic forms dripping with nameless fluids. In Scorn, the environment itself is a character and will do its best to upset and unbalance you. Each place has its puzzles, characters, and story to tell, which combine to create a cohesive world. As you journey through the game, new areas, abilities, weapons, and items will be revealed as you attempt to understand the evolving reality of Scorn.
“It is imperative for us developers to present Scorn in the best possible way. The distinctive art style is only half of the story, the other half is that all the technical parts of the game work smoothly, “Game Director Ljubomir Peklar said last year.
“This is where our partnership comes into play. with Microsoft and their next generation Xbox Series X console. Xbox Series X is an extremely capable piece of hardware that will allow us to run Scorn at 4k 60 fps. Ease of development and processing power are the main reasons we chose to use Xbox Series X exclusively. Series X players will experience a no-compromise version of Scorn. “
