Saints Row has returned to show itself in a new gameplay video, a few days after the trailer’s release in which the map of Santo Ileso was shown for the first time. The new video, shared in preview by Game Informer, focuses on driving and shows car chases and shootings between the protagonist and the police.
The video begins with the player engaging in delivery, being chased by several police cars. The physics are exaggerated as usual, with full control of the vehicle even in midair and police cars taking off after being hit at high speed, but overall the gameplay seems to have all it takes to entertain. Instead, the effects of the explosions and the shooting, still a little rough and with unconvincing animations, should be reviewed.
Some fans have also complained about the excessive presence of the life bars (for both NPCs and cars), and the status of the minimap, perhaps a little confusing, but these are still issues that can be solved before launch.
We remind you that the game is currently in pre-alpha, so many mechanics may change for development. Gamers are skeptical of the reboot, but these early gameplay videos have received a much better reception than the Gamescom 2021 announcement trailer.
Saints Row will be released on February 25, 2022, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and on PC, exclusively at the Epic Games Store.
