A new rumor on the net hints that Sledgehammer Games is working on Call of Duty 2021. Henderson tweeted an image on social media showing the development timeline for the last few games in the series, making it clear that Sledgehammer’s turn to work on new witchcraft, which will possibly be released at the end of 2021. While we haven’t heard a word from Activision about a new game in the series, it looks like we now have an idea of who is developing it.
It is important to note that this is still a rumor and should not be taken seriously. However, this timeline makes sense. Given that Treyarch and Infinity Ward were the studios working on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare over the past two years, it’s logical to assume that now it’s Sledgehammer’s turn.
The most recent Call of Duty game released by Sledgehammer was the 2017 Call of Duty: WWII. Before that, the studio made Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The release of the new Call of Duty will take place in 2021.
