While it has been confirmed that it has been working on a new virtual reality system for about a year now, Sony has only revealed a few details of the PSVR 2’s features. Since then, little more has been revealed about the new system, which may be about to come into operation production.
According to the Chinese publication Xueqiu, component maker Goertek signed a contract with Sony to produce the new virtual reality system. According to the publication, the headset will go into production very soon.
Goertek has had a professional relationship with Sony for some time, having collaborated on the original PSVR and the PS5. Interestingly, Goertek is also working with Facebook on Quest 2. Previously, the company revealed that it is working on a virtual reality headset with a Japanese company that expects to sell 1-2 million units this year, and Sony is the prime suspect.
Several leaks and rumors point to the headset being released later this year, during the festive season, when we usually have major releases in the video game universe.
