The title will support online co-op play across all platforms and premiere on the Xbox Game Preview program later this year.
Developer RyseUp Studios today announced Roboquest, a fast-paced roguelite first-person shooter. The game is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and PC. It will launch on the Xbox Game Preview program in 2021. The full version will arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch and will support cross-platform cooperative play.
According to the developer, Roboquest “places an emphasis on creative action during shootings and precision of movement.” The game sports a cell-shaded graphic style that closely resembles the world of comics, as well as a single-player and co-op campaign. RyseUp decided that they would use an open development process early in the game to gather player input and feedback.
The game takes place in the year 2700. Climate change and war have decimated the planet. The scattered remnants of humanity survive a desperate existence in the deserts. A young scavenger named Max finds an old Guardian robot and activates it, kicking off the game’s main story.
With over 50 weapons to collect and tons of skills and customizations to unlock, Roboquest promises to be a very interesting title.
