Rivals of Aether, the Smash-like game that has long called PC home, announced earlier this year that it would bring the definitive version not only to Steam but to the Switch as well. Initially, this version of the game will be launched this summer. Still, now it seems that the full version of Rivals of Aether will arrive in early Autumn.
In a Tweet, Rivals of Aether creator Dan Fornace revealed that a definitive edition of the game won’t be released this month. The full message for the players is below.
When Rivals of Aether – Definitive Edition launches, it will carry all the DLC available in the game and a few other goodies. First and foremost is a new game mode dubbed Rivals of Tether, which somehow turns the game into a tetherball match? Beyond that, players can expect lots of new cosmetics for the characters and a few new skins to boot.
Rivals of Aether has enjoyed moderate success since its launch in 2015. The game has garnered dedicated players who led it to several eSports tournaments, including Genesis, Smash Bros. major tournament. Rivals of Aether – Definitive Edition announced in Genesis 7 following its own game tournament.
So far, no price has been revealed for Rivals of Aether – Definitive Edition. Nonetheless, players who already own the game on Steam will enjoy the new version for free. For those who have purchased the game’s DLC, there is still something to look forward to – access to new character skins before they launch for players.
