Riot Games has announced that its 2D fighting game project currently in development, Project L, will be free to play. The game is set in Runeterra and shares a universe with League of Legends.
“One of our goals is to remove as many barriers as possible so you can enjoy Project L,” developer Tom Cannon explained in a new video. “We want you to be able to play regardless of where you live, what your skill level is, or how much money you can afford to spend on the game.”
Cannon has also explained that Project L will respect “the time and wallet” of its players in terms of monetization.
Also, in a new development video, Illaoi, another of the League of Legends champions who will be present in the game, has been introduced. We can see several movements as a character focused on the physical.
“Our ultimate goal is to have a diverse and inclusive character roster where everyone can find a character they can relate to,” explains game director Shaun Rivera.
On the other hand, the game’s narrative director, Scott Hawkes, describes Illaoi as “a powerful and charismatic spiritual leader who inspires others to be their unstoppable force. She dominates the rooms with her physical presence and confident demeanor.”
