Since April last year, the hypothesis of seeing a remake of Resident Evil 4 had emerged on the net, especially according to the theories spread by the Videogameschronicle portal. A theory widely pushed by the site, but never confirmed by the Osaka company, currently focused on Resident Evil Village’s launch.
However, the editorial staff of VGC returned to the issue, even describing problems related to development that would have led the alleged remake to a release in the fiscal year 2023 (also partially confirming the leak on the new Capcom games ). Specifically, it is stated that the M-Two studio, involved in the development of Resident Evil 3 Remake, aimed at the same “modernization” work also for the return of the fourth chapter.
According to the site, the leaders of Capcom were not satisfied with the welcome given to Jill Valentine and the Nemesis and preferring a more respectful approach towards the original game. They would have decided to significantly reduce M-Two’s involvement and move the load working on an internal collective. VGC sources then say that the work is partly broken down, moving the publication of Resident Evil 4 to fiscal 2023.
In the absence of any official statement from Capcom, which, we recall, has never announced the fourth chapter’s remake, we invite you to take these rumors with due caution.
