French leaker Rockstar Mag, who specializes in news related to the production of Rockstar Games video games, recently said that a remaster of Red Dead Redemption has been in the works for about a year and could be announced soon. It should be noted that this same rumor was first shared by the same internal source that, a few months ago, had revealed to Kotaku the existence of the Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy.
On August 12, a source inside Rockstar Games revealed to Kotaku the existence of the GTA: Trilogy – The Definitive Edition project. Sometime before, the same source had predicted the contents of some updates of Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online well in advance, which is why the US newspaper had considered the information received reliable. In addition to the GTA trilogy, the existence of a port of Red Dead Redemption was also anticipated, and now Rockstar Mag has confirmed that it is a sort of “Remastered Plus” with elements taken from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Currently, the project does not have a release date, so it is impossible to verify this information, but it is still likely that some more details will be revealed in 2022. Red Dead Redemption still defends itself well graphically. Still, when we consider that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold around 40 million copies, it’s easy to understand why Rockstar is thinking of remastering the first chapter.
