Ubisoft has announced a new limited-time PvP event in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege called Containment. It will begin today, August 3, and run for three weeks until August 24.
Inspired by the upcoming game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, the Containment event takes players to a modified version of the Consulate map infested by a parasite called Chimera, where the new Nest Destruction mode occurs. Rainbow Six Siege will also be available for free from August 13 to August 15 – during this period, players will have the opportunity to earn twice as many Battle Pass points.
This event offers a glimpse into the Extraction world of Rainbow Six Siege. The team of REACT agents (the attacker) intervenes to destroy the nests and faces a team of the Fallen – the deadly variant of the Archaeans. They can take REACT operators (defenders) and try to mimic their behavior at maximum speed and fight only in close combat.
Defenders will receive additional health, Aruni’s fist punch, and Oryx’s special abilities but will not use weapons throughout the game. Attackers will have standard equipment with no modifiers and a limited choice of operators.
The Containment event will introduce a new game mode, Nest Destruction, in which players will compete for slots. Attackers will receive a two-tier objective: destroy the nests to gain access to the final target and win the round.
On the other hand, defenders trying to stop opponents will only rely on the melee attacks and Ramah Oryx’s spurt. Of course, there is always the ultimate solution to victory – well known and effective: taking out all operators of the opposing team.
The Containment event introduces its collection of 33 unique items for Rainbow Six Siege operators, including IQ, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru, and Zero on the attackers’ side, and Aruni, Jäger, Kaid, Mira, and Warden on the defender team. The collection includes headgear, uniforms, and weapon skins.
All exclusive, limited-time Operator Customization Items can be purchased in the Store as Packs at 1,680 R6 Credits per Piece and purchased through Containment Packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12,500 Fame Points. More information on the Containment event can be found here.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Extraction debuts in January 2022 year. The release date of this game has recently been postponed from September this year.
